Education & Student Life


  • Record student enrollment in Fall 2021—34,400; student-to-faculty ratio—17 to 1
  • In 2019, the U was invited to join the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU)
  • The U graduates 52% of all STEM graduates in Utah and trains 2/3 of Utah’s physicians
  • 93% of our student athletes graduate (2nd in the PAC-12 after Stanford)
  • The For Utah Scholarship provides full tuition and fees for first-generation students (more than 600 in fall 2021; 872 in 2020)

  • 71% of all energy used on campus comes from renewable resources

  • In 2021, the University of Utah received a Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) Gold rating

 

Healthcare


  • The U is the only academic medical center in Mountain West, offering care in more than 200 specialties, with 75 telemedicine sites, 5 hospitals, and 12 community clinics.
  • The U is home to the renowned Huntsman Cancer Institute and newly formed Huntsman Mental Health Institute.
  • U of U Health has ranked top 10 nationally for 11 years in a row for quality health care (Vizient).
